Paul is really a positive guy, but in
this photo he is thinking - "Did the
kids bike race results arrive?".

On the first day of the race, there was
a very beautiful sunset. I took it from
the window of the Press Center (PC).

|
One of the few races that I was able
to goto, wasthe dual slalom event,
since it was right next to the PC.

|
Of course Carolanne Chauson won
the womens race with her great
bike handling skills.
09/20/02
|
Missy Giove gave Chauson a run
for her money with her great
power and turning skill.

I don't know who this Team Tomac
rider is (too bad the team is no
more), but my fisheye lens worked.

Ok, some people think Brian Lopes is
kind of an asshole, but all know he is
the best slolom riders.
09/20/02
|
Mike King is a DH world champion, but
he is now one of the better slolom
rider who won the Maribor 4cross.

|
Wade Boots is a World Champion for Dual,
and he didn't disappoint at the Sea
Otter with some great riding.

|
The dual slalom course was very well
designed with great sweeping birms
and well made double jumps.

|
This photo show the whole Laguna
Seca race track, and most of the
dual slalom course.

|
The Sea Otter's dual slalom course
not only made for close racing, but
also was great for the spectators.

|
Nick Hanna was one of the newest
and one of the youngest members
of the new Global race team.

After the Dual Slalom, there was a great
jump contest. Above is one of my
photos - of a no footer!
09/20/02
|
After the Dual win, Brian Lopes impressed
everyone with this no-hander on his
Cannondale with a lefty fork.
09/20/02
|
The lighting at the jump contest
was perfect, and I was able to
get some great moves on film.
09/20/02
|
What more can I say, this picture
says it all...he is not going to
win the jump contest.
09/20/02
|
I really liked this one hand
no footer. Great form, now if only
I wanted to go back to a hospital.

|
At the 2001 Sea Otter, they held a
4 Cross (Mountain Cross?) race to.
try out the new UCI format.
09/20/02
|
What I really liked about the Sea Otter,
is that they have every type of bike
racing known to man, including NorthShore!
09/20/02
|
Lets not forget the crowd favorite...
Trials. This course was a trails race,
which also required speed.
